Weatherup says he decided to get involved with Ethology because of the company’s “unique focus on driving strategies to achieve each client’s most important business objective and to ensure success in their digital endeavors,” and because Ethology is “positioned to help companies make that acceleration smoothly and efficiently across all elements of the digital ecosystem.” He is eager to contribute to the continued expansion of Ethology’s exceptional clients, including Farmers Insurance, Waste Management, Mobile Mini and Culligan, across the digital marketing space.
In addition to serving as Ethology’s newest board member, Mr. Weatherup is currently managing partner of Atai Ventures angel investments, President of Philadelphia Startup Leaders and partner of ICONYC, a seed-stage business accelerator focused on Israeli technology companies.
Weatherup was previously Chief Digital Officer/SVP of PetSmart, a role he assumed after his venture-backed consumer engagement, digital media and subscription e-commerce company, Pet360, was acquired by the $7.5 billion pet specialty retailer.
Mr. Weatherup was formerly the CEO at Fathead, LLC, a sports/entertainment brand that markets lifesize wall graphics. He also held leadership positions at IAC, the media and Internet company that owns some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Ticketmaster, Match.com and CitySearch, and was President and CEO for the outdoor recreation management company ReserveAmerica.
